Washing Station

The Shakiso Washing Station is located in the Guji Zone of the Oromia Region of Ethiopia. It is one of the most important washing stations in the region, and is responsible for processing coffee from over 600 farmers. The station is well-equipped and uses the washed processing method to produce high-quality coffee.

At the washing station, the coffee cherries are first sorted by hand to remove any damaged or overripe fruit. The cherries are then pulped and fermented in tanks for 12-18 hours. After fermentation, the coffee beans are washed and dried on raised beds. The dried beans are then sorted and graded, and are ready for export.
